The country 's average daily basic pay - defined as the wage of normal/regular working time before
deduction for social security contributions and withholding taxes - increased by 2.84% to P412.92 in July
2017 year-on-year according to the government's Current Labor Statistic in April 2018 report. In the report, workers in the Ilocos, Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions saw double-digit growth rates in salaries in July 2017 reference period from a year ago. Furthermore, only three Regions out of 17 recorded wage growth above the region. Wage growth varies among industry groups with as low as 9.18% decline recorded in the arts, entertainment, and recreation to as high as the 12.82% growth in agriculture.
